We all love our Friday night family pizza and movie evening. It is great because I cook something really easy and the kids can help. We look forward to gathering together after a long week and just hanging out.
Pizza dough--We use Gillian's pizza dough (wheat, gluten and dairy free)
We purchase our dough in our local grocery store's health food frozen section
Pizza stone
Shredded cheese
8 oz. sweet Italian turkey sausage
Minced garlic
Olive oil
Flour--we use buckwheat flour another gluten free product
Pizza sauce, we usually can get 2 pizzas out of a 16oz jar.
If you purchased pizza dough follow the instructions for preheating the stove. In a large frying pan cook sausage until done. While that is cooking drizzle olive oil around stone and roll out. As you are rolling out the dough, sprinkle flour on dough to help the rolling process. Spread pizza sauce over the dough and top with garlic and cooked sausage. Sprinkle cheese over the pizza. Place the stone in the oven and follow the directions for cooking the pizza dough of your choice. The Gillians dough cooks for 15 minutes @ 375 degrees.
It doesn't matter how much we pile on our pizza. We grab our dietary scale and weigh a slice so the carbohydrates are accurate. All you have to do is program the scale for your pizza choice.
On average 1 slice=
