What Makes You Laugh
We laugh at each other! And we love to laugh, A LOT!! We also are big Adam Sandler fans. His movies really make us laugh.
Favorite Sports Team
Our favorite sports team is any team our children are playing on. Ryan is 16 and plays varsity football and basketball at his high school and Hannah is 10 and plays soccer and basketball. We all are very active and try to stay in the best physical shape possible!
What Helps You Get Through
Family and friends are the best resources to get through each and every day. We are also extemely blessed to live in a very caring community.
Favorite Meal
Hannah's favorite snack is popcorn and her favorite meal is tacos! Our entire family loves Mexican food and any shrimp dish!
Helpful Resources
The most useful resource since Hannah's diagnosis has been our local JDRF Chapter. We immediately connected with other families through JDRF and have received tremendous support and encouragement through our involvement with JDRF. We are passionate about raising awareness through education and the much needed funds to find a cure for type 1 diabetes.

Question for Everyone
I am most interested in hearing about the transition to college life. It is our greatest hope that a cure be found before Hannah goes to college in 9 years.
Diabetes Camp
Hannah has attended Camp Adam Fisher for the past two years and has loved it. It has been a positive experience for her and I highly recommend this camp for anyone living in the Carolinas. She talks about it all year long and can't wait until it rolls around every year. She has learned so much and made friends for life!
Vacation
Our favorite family vacation is a week at the Hilton Head Island, SC. It is very laid back, not too commerical. We just plan ahead with plenty of supplies and take diabetes one day at a time just like if we were home. Because we have made so many connections all over the state of SC, we have JDRF contacts near HHI.
Question For Team
No specific question other than tips for handling the transition to middle school, high school, and then college life.
