Cheryl Jan 27, 2012 (26 days ago)Welcome to a club that no one wants to be a member of. I'm Cheryl and my newly 5 y.o. son was diagnosed a few months before his 3rd birthday. He went on the Animas Ping pump this past August. We primarily chose it because he is active and with this pump he can be bolused (given insulin) using the remote. We were apprehensive before hand, but now can't imagine life without the pump, even though it requires more blood sugar checks (tighter management). Hopefully you can look at the pumps available and decide which one is best for your son and family. Best wishes. Cheryl

Lucy Grubbs Jan 6, 2012 (2 months ago)We are on the animas pump and love it. To be honest when we were looking we realized they mostly all do the same thing at least the three we narrowed it down to so we have my daughter a choice because she was almost 13 to choose and she researched and decided. And now 4 yrs later and now having another daughter diagnosed we still love animas. And now we are on dexcom cgm thru animas and are very happy we picked animas. Plus the animas waterproof feature sold us!

Benita Dec 31, 2011 (2 months ago)We use the Minimed pump for my son. He's 15 and has been on it for about 8 years. We'll be using the Dexcom sensor soon too (he's been on Minimed's sensor for years but it's not very accurate). The pump is great! I highly recommend it!!!
