Gayle Sep 17, 2011 (8 months ago)My 8 year old granddaughter was diagnosed on August 26 2011...finding recipes is my job now...new one this week was a major success...Pigs in a Blanket low carb style! Soy hot dogs wrapped in one sheet of whole wheat phyllo dough brushed with an olive oil butter mix and baked until golden. Total carbs for two dogs 20G and protein of 16G...definite hit. She ate outside with her friends and I had to tell her she couldn't share, but made some for the neighborhood kids to enjoy with her! She misses her bread and pasta, but this alternative is amazing. You can use Ricotta and fresh fruit wrapped in filo for a sweet dessert.
