- Helpful Resources
- The first book I received after my son's diagnosis was The Complete Guide to Diabetes from American Diabetes Association. The insulin pump made a huge difference in quality of life for our son and the family. A helpful tip is to stay on top of the knowledge of diabetes. Keep reading and studying to keep your mind always in gear and ready for anything that happens. Never assume that if something bad has not happend so far that it probably won't. It will when you least expect it - be ready!

- How do you get a very picky eater - one who doesn't like veggies - to understand the importance of trying them!? A similar question was posted in the Forum under category Meal and Food.
- Diabetes Camp
- No
- Vacation
- Trip to the beach or to the mountains. Vacations cause stressful highs in our 12 year old. Checking blood sugar frequently and maybe changing dosages is most always necessary on trips

Stacy Sep 28, 2010 (2 years ago)Our very picky 10 year old discovered that he does like steamed broccoli and cauliflower if you pour some cheese sauce on it. The sauce is not a lot of carbs either. He also loves celery with PB. Hope you can find more veggies your son likes.
