- Where do you live?
- Crawfordville, FL
- What Makes You Laugh
- We are a pretty witty family, so we all laugh at each other..sometimes when we look at each other.
- Favorite Sports Team
- We are huge Florida State University fans! We have gone to a many football, basketball and baseball games and now the kids are enjoying going too!
- What Helps You Get Through
- Our faith in Jesus helps us get through the day. I remember the day my daughter was dxd. She was 19months old and I remember having such peace over me. I know He had protected her and if she can get through why can't we?
- Favorite Meal
- Sydney's favorite snack is tuna fish with crackers or soup.
- Helpful Resources
- Parenting diabetics website has been very helpful. Also get in touch with your local support group or diabetes center. I try to make sydney feel as normal as possible. She was also dxd with celiacs disease 2 yrs ago (no gluten) and so just trying to allow her the same foods as my other children (in moderation like everyone else) there's alot she can't control, so I try to let her take the wheel and I sit in the passenger seat directing her to input carbs into her pump or check her blood. She has been checking her blood since age three. It's so important to give them this independence and to teach them to take care of themselves. Let them be kids:)

- Question for Everyone
- How have you handled making sure your other children are given enough attention, so that the diabetes doesn't take over ?
PDK: This is always on my mind and I wrote a blog about having Quality Time with our oldest daughter Naomi that doesn't have diabetes. - Diabetes Camp
- She has gone Woodsmen Of The World camp in Crawfordville, FL and really enjoyed being around other kids with diabetes.
- Vacation
- We love going to Walt Disney World. Since Sydney is Celiac as well (which runs hand in hand with diabetes) Disney offers Gluten Free non contaminated foods!! Yeah!! The chef will actually come out and talk with you to ensure your childs safety!!
