Tracy Mar 25, 2011 (1 year ago)My answer to your question is....with my 5 year old diabetic daughter there aren't really any foods that she just can't have. I limit her quantities but would do so diabetic or not. She's on an insulin pump so I count carbohydrates and dose her accordingly. If she is sick and doesn't want to eat I can usually get her to at least drink. Something to drink that isn't sugarfree can keep her blood sugar up if necessary or popcycles are usually a hit.

As for when she's sick, ice cream spurs on the appetite :)
