There is skin glue that they can use...its called mastisol The liquid adhesive works good we use it at camp.

Here's a blog from April 2010  How To Keep Your Site On?  Scroll down to the bottom and you'll find an Amazon link for mastisol.

Who says you have to "protect" the pump site?  Infusion sets are water-tight once you disconnect the tubing.  Nothing should be able to get in or out.  There is really no need to cover it, unless you are trying to provide extra adhesion.

If the infusion set is exposed to "dirty" water, it is reasonable to either clean the connection portion of the set with an alcohol wipe, or change the site completely.

You can ask your neighbor what he uses to keep his lawn so green, or ask a friend for her famous zucchini bread recipe... But who do you ask those day-to-day questions about life with diabetes? Your medical team is the place to start, but we've gathered a few other experts here to help you out as well. Check out the latest questions parents are asking, and pose your own, too!
