Our Mission
Our mission is to help kids with type 1 diabetes and their families deal with this unrelenting disease through empowered living: better glucose management, exercise, diet and education. We seek to increase public awareness about type 1 diabetes and its effects on children and their families.
We will:
- Develop campaigns using the SlamDiabetes brand to increase public awareness of the difficulties and challenges children with type 1 diabetes and their families face each day.
- Raise funds for scholarships, grants and sponsorships for kids and their family members to attend camps and conferences created to help them develop skills and practices with which to manage their diabetes, support and assist a loved one and connect with other kids with type 1.
- Support parents and families in their efforts to keep their children alive and well through cooperation with other initiatives, businesses and organizations in the diabetes community.
